We supply a range of adhesives and grouts, as well as tiling tools such as notched trowels, drill bits, diamond blades and tile spacers. Other products include floor grouters and sponges, plus grout, silicone and tile adhesive. We also have bucket trowels, grouting floats and a Forte Washboy Bucket Set.
What’s a notched trowel?
Notched trowels are used to spread out tile adhesive so are an essential tool when it comes to laying your tiles. The notches cut into the trowel leave behind grooves in the adhesive which subsequently allows air to escape when the tiles are pressed into the adhesive.
What is silicone used for?
Silicone is a waterproof sealant which is placed between tiles and other surfaces, for example, around the base of showers, to seal off the space and prevent water, dirt and moisture from getting in between them. It’s commonly used around joints and is a flexible material, making it particularly useful around areas where some slight movement might be expected.
Why do I need tile spacers?
Tile spacers are used to space tiles apart equally when they’re being laid, so they aren’t placed too closely together and run the risk of being damaged. They also keep tiles in line to give a more even design and to ensure equal amounts of grout between each tile. Not using spacers will usually result in a more uneven result.
What’s a grouting float?
A grouting float is a trowel-like tool which is used to apply grout between tiles to help protect them from damage and keep them secure. Lightweight and with a rubber face, they’re designed to ensure that they don’t damage the tiles during the grouting process. It’s safer to use than a trowel for this reason, so is an essential tile laying tool.
